Indian Classical Dancers
This series is part of an ongoing exploration into movement, memory, and cultural expression — themes that weave through all of my work. Using photography as the foundation, I layer textures, pigments, and digital overlays to create compositions that exist between the tactile and the ethereal.
In Indian Classical Dancers, the layered surfaces echo the discipline, beauty, and emotion embedded in traditional Indian dance. The gestures, costumes, and expressions carry centuries of history, while the added textures — drawn from paint, fabric, and environmental surfaces — blur the boundaries between body and atmosphere. The result is imagery that feels both grounded and dreamlike, as if movement itself is dissolving into memory.
Across my practice, I’m drawn to stories that reveal how culture and identity are felt, remembered, and carried forward. Each layer becomes a trace — of rhythm, devotion, or time — and together they form a visual language that speaks to heritage, presence, and transformation.
